50 Individual Extensions, 60cm long and 7mm thick. 100% Human Hair has been hand crocheted to create these extensions for braiding in or lengthening existing dreadlocks.
Our ombre human hair dreadlock extensions are hand made in three ombre colour ways. The loop at the top allows for easy braiding in for temporary wear or they can be used to lengthen existing dreadlocks. We expertly crochet for maximum longevity and whilst they are perfectly uniform initially, they will evolve as they mature and become more flexible.
INCLUSIONS: 50 Individual dreadlocks.
LENGTH & THICKNESS: Dreadlocks are approximately 7mm wide and 60cm / 23" in length which includes 20cm of long loose ends which taper in.

Dark Brown Ombre ~ #2 Dark Brown down to #30 Mid Warm Brown
If you would like a mix of different colours, please select Blend and leave a note in the shopping carts comments box with your requested colours and how many of each.
DYING & TONING: Human hair dreadlocks can be dyed, however, due to chemical sanitation, colouring and the hair originating from various sources, it can be difficult to achieve consistent results. We therefore, recommend a colour specialist is consulted. Our Blonde dreadlocks also respond well to purple shampoo if you wish to neutralise the yellow base colour. Use purple shampoo only as needed, rinse out well and consider additional conditioning as purple products can be quite drying. Always test on one dreadlock before proceeding.
WHAT TO EXPECT, QUALITY & WEAR: Our dreadlock extensions are hand crocheted to a high standard and are used by many locticians which is a testament to their quality. We use a common lengthening/extension making technique to create the extensions which involves using hair that is 9-10” long on average and we add more hair as we build the length. We crochet fairly tightly to minimise maintenance and maximise longevity. In time and with wear, the dreadlocks will mature and evolve becoming somewhat more flexible and softer.
We recommend reviewing your dreadlocks on arrival to make sure you're happy with the colour, look and feel. You can even shampoo one dreadlock to gain a clearer understanding of how they behave and wear. We appreciate the challenges of purchasing on line so we accept returns for exchanges and refunds with the following conditions:
* Any returns must be requested within 7 days of receiving your order.
* Only dreadlocks which are unused, unwashed, unworn and in their original condition are eligible for refund.
* Any initial postage, return and re-postage costs (in the case of exchanges) are at the buyers expense.
* A 10% restocking fee will apply in the event dreadlock extensions are returned for a refund.
* On receipt of your return, the cost of the extensions, less any postage paid and the 10% restocking fee, will be refunded.
MAINTENANCE & LIFESPAN: Shampoo your dreadlocks as needed. Our Dread Empire range of shampoo's deeply clean and create tight, healthy locs. It's normal for loose hairs to escape, particularly as they continue to mature and after shampooing, so use a 0.6mm crochet hook to pull the loose hairs back into the dread. Palm rolling regularly with downward pressure will help shape the dread and avoid excessive shrinking.
Human hair extensions can become more dehydrated than your natural hair, especially the lighter shades. To keep them nourished, we recommend using Dread Empire's Conditioning Spray or Quench Conditioning Oils as needed. While hair stylists typically give regular human hair extensions a lifespan of around 12 months, the care and maintenance you provide will ultimately determine their longevity. Some of our customers have continued wearing our extensions for a couple of years with the right upkeep.
INSTALLATION: The single ended loop at the top allows for easy braid in installation and they can be worn for up to 2-3 months. Alternatively, if you wish to permanently crochet them into your own dreadlocks, you can cut the loop off at the top.
If you wish to extend existing dreadlocks, crochet to the bottom of your existing dreads for instant length. We have the perfect size hook (0.6mm) available here. One end of the extension is blunt/rounded whilst the other tapers off into an undreaded wispy end. Either end can be used for attachment depending on how you would like the end of your dreads to be finished.
The below video demonstrates how to use extensions to extend existing dreadlocks. Please note that the human hair dreadlock extensions do not come with a loop. The extensions used in the video are our synthetic single ended dreadlock extensions.
